MOTM Tonight - J Black's - Dustin as Honorary Host - You do not want to tell your friends you missed this!

OK, today on All Hallows Eve eve (see Wikipedia), we will gather around the boiling caldron of witches brew at J Blacks at 5 pm to celebrate that it is an alternate Thursday.
"Double, double toil and trouble; Fire burn, and caldron bubble."

All the people as designated in Dustin's earlier post are going to wear the assigned costume, except that Dustin and Stephenie are doing this:

I was going to wear my John McCain costume but when I sent it to the cleaners, they couldn't get enough wrinkles in it.

See you tonight.

Peace. Out.

MOTM This Thursday - Dustin Honorary Host - This is Dustin's post

Hello from Dustin, your Honorary Host for this Thursday's MOTM.
It’s time, once again, for all (three) of us who normally come to happy hour to sit around drinking and waiting (like an unattractive, older woman on a Saturday night).

Let’s venture to J. Black’s (next to The Ranch) for happy hour on Thursday at 5:00 p.m. ish. Paul will be my guest-guest host because I can’t leave “the field” until later. As recent tradition dictates, I will purchase some drinks. I, however, will only buy drinks for people I like.

This Thursday is also the day before Halloween, so don your gay apparel and I’ll buy some drinks for anyone in costume. I guess you’ll have to be there after 6:00 ish to get your free drinks though. That being said, here are my personal costume suggestions:

Stuart, Andrew, Todd, Mike Garlow: Soldiers from 300.
Alternatively, you can go as the 2008 U.S. Men’s Swim Team. All you need is gold medals. I’ll be Mickey Mouse.

I don’t really care about anyone else’s costume choices.

Jut kidding. Kind of.

Victoria: Microsoft Software package - International Exotic Chick 3.0.
Shunit: Sexy Cop. (Dammit, one of these years, we’ll get you into a slutty outfit if it kills us.) At least, stop by.

Stephanie: Supergirl.
Claudia: Strawberry Shortcake.

Lisa: Bun-in-the-oven.

Just kidding. Lisa’s a very classy lady. This shit is not cute.

Paul: Please be a Care Bear. Or Michael Jackson. Or John McCain.

More pictures of 300 soldiers!

Goodness.

See you all at J. Black’s on Thursday, October 30, 2008 at 5:00 p.m.

Holla!

MOTM Today - Thursday October 16 - Union Park - Angel H in charge

Hey, you know you want it. It's been on your mind all day. How good it would be to feel something cool and smooth against your lips. How the very core of your body would rock to the pleasure of good drink and conversation. Social intercourse is on the tip of everybody's tongue. Make it a reality. Give in to your inner most needs and wants. MOTM needs you and you need MOTM. Let it all go and be one with your desires. Tonight. 5 pm. Union Park on Sixth.

You know you want it. You know you want it bad.

Angel H is your Honorary Host and captain for the evening. Join him and his many willing participants in an evening of revelry and bacchanalia.

Union Park could look just like this tonight if you try. The debates are over, the economy has recovered, the wars are over, peace reigns, the moon in in the seventh house and Jupiter aligns with Mars.

Let's make it happen.

Peace. Out.

Some good news and some bad news. First, the bad news -- due to circumstances beyond my control The Tap Room is having a "private party" this Thursday from 5-8pm and thus won't have room for our august presences (i.e., NO MOTM The Tap Room). However, all is not lost. The good news is we will still be convening this Thursday at 5pm only few blocks away at Union Park - $3 Mojitos, a deck, and some decent food. Hope to see you all there.

MOTM to be held at The Tap Room (downstairs at Six Lounge featuring $2 pints, free billiards, and decent food) this Thursday starting at 5pm. For directions and a review look here:

I don't have much in the way of witty banter. Instead, I simply invite you to stop by for a drink. Warning though, while it may be good for your heart it might shrink your brain. But does it matter? With this bunch who could tell?

Anyway, if you haven't completely lost your fortune in the stock market, come by for a drink and celebrate. If you have lost everything, come and ease your sorrows. If you're somewhere in between, drink and celebrate or commiserate over something else (e.g, that UT is ranked number 1 (for now at least), that your fantasy football team is two games out of first place, that Mist-May Treanor is out of Dancing with the Stars, that a couple in Cambodia couldn't mend their differences and had to cut their house in half, and the list goes on and on).

If you are thinking of stopping by but don't really want to drink with the people that you think might show up, invite some people that you do want to drink with and influence the current constituency. And if you don't think you have much to contribute to the discourse, try one of these conversational gems out (they may not be good for first dates, but they should get plenty of mileage at MOTM).

Finally, none of the obligatory scintillating images, but please look some up and tell us about them in great detail when you stop by.

Your honorary host, AH Jr.

MOTM - October 16- Honorary Host: Angel Herrera

OK, Dudes and Dudettes, we are in for a treat this week. Another one of the charter members and most faithful attendees has agreed to act as Honorary Host this week for MOTM. Watch this blog as Angel will revel the date, time and location of the MOTM. You won't want to miss this. Watch closely now.

No MOTM Today - Don't You Dare Go Drink!

This being the alternate Thursday (and Yom Kippur) we will not work, wear leather shoes, bathe, put on perfume or engage in sexual relations or go to happy hour. This means that most MOTM participants could comply with Jewish Yom Kippur traditions almost any day of the year regardless of their particular religion or creed.
Next week is another matter, however. Next week we will wear leather shoes but the rest is optional. Also, we will drink our brains out (short term task).
I need a volunteer to be Honorary Host for next week. I know it is a daunting task to follow the ones we have already had but someone needs to step up. All it requires is picking a place and time and doing a short blog post. I'm waiting.
Peace. Out.

MOTM - Tonight - Special Debate Edition!

Remember, MOTM occurs again tonight at the Belmont. People will arrive in the 5 pm and later time frame. You should be there.
There will be a special pre-debate round table discussion at which the participants will try to name all the Supreme Court decisions with which they disagree, all the newspapers and magazines that they read and all the foreign countries they can see from their homes. There will also be an optional break out session where the participants will discuss the effects of the proposed bail out on the price of the value menu at Whattaburger. It promises to be entertaining and informative.
The incomparable Stuart Hiserodt, Esq. will serve as the Honorary Host and debate moderator. Conventional etiquette suggests that a gift for the Honorary Host would be appropriate. Might I suggest something along these lines.
See you tonight.
Peace. Out.
